Mikelly Woodshop began in January 2022 by husband and wife team Michael (Mike) and Kelly.
Michael is the main builder and creator of all our products. He is passionate about woodworking and is always looking for ways to learn and improve his skills and craft. With his engineering background, he is creative in coming up with innovative and customized designs to meet the needs of our customers. Kelly is new to woodworking, she assists Michael in building and is head of customer service, communication and marketing. Kelly works in the medical field and has over 15 years of retail experience and customer service.
What started out as a side hobby and love for woodworking in our home garage has turned into a dream come true for us to work together and start our own woodworking business.

Our Services
painting/finishing
- All our products come sanded and ready for you to paint, stain or seal.
- For your convenience we offer painting/finishing services at an additional charge.
- Pricing depends on the project and can range from $100-$400 plus
- We use BEHR paint and require our customer to provide the paint ID or color match for custom colors.
- Stain colors/shade must be provided
- Please let us know when you place your order if you would like us to paint/finish your items
Our Services
crating and shipping
- To ensure our products arrive to you safely and in a timely manner we have partnered with a local crating company who customizes in wood crates/pallets specifically for the shipping of our products.
- Currently we only offer shipping within the United States
- We ship via freight carrier and typically takes 7-10 business days
- Larger orders will require lift gate access, docking area or fork lift access upon delivery
- Crating and Shipping cost depends on the size of the order but typically is between $700-$950 plus
- Pick up is at our location in Fullerton, California (USA)

Our Products
- When it comes to building our products, the choice of wood depends on several factors such as the desired look, budget, and availability. However, some types of wood are known for their strength and efficiency in woodworking, making them a popular choice for building backdrops.
- We typically use 1/2 inch sanded birch plywood for our backdrops which is considered one of the most efficient and strong woods for building backdrops. Birch plywood is a durable and stable wood that is resistant to warping and cracking. It is also relatively affordable, making it a popular choice for woodworking projects.
- Our other wood of choice is maple which is known for its strength and beauty. We use maple for our bars, 3D arches, display walls, etc.
- We hand select quality plywood and our products are provided stain/paint ready.

How to Order
To place an order simply send us a message (via IG, Text or email) with the items you want to order, size and date you need it by. If you’re looking for something custom made, please send us any pictures you have, dimensions or any detail that can help us provide you with an accurate quote.
We require 50 percent non-refundable deposit to place the order and the remainder is due once the order is completed and ready for pick up. All sales are final.
We accept Zelle as form of payment. We also accept credit card with a 3% processing fee.
Our warehouse located in Fullerton, California (USA) for pick up
Our turnaround time varies based on the type of order. A basic backdrop typically processes in 5-7 business days, specials 2-4 weeks and custom orders 4-8 weeks.

wood bar
Our wood bars are made to order and can be customized to size or style. Turn around time depends on total customization but typically it takes 2-4 weeks to complete.
Our bars are made from 1/2” maple plywood and they come sanded and ready for paint. We can paint, stain, or seal for an additional charge. Our bars can hold up to 200-250lbs.
Shipping is available within the US. We have partnered with a local crating company that packages and crates our bars on wood pallets/crates and ships them via a freight carrier.

THINGS T0 CONSIDER
CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR WOOD PANELS
- There are no standard sizes as we custom build, the sizes you see were specific requests by our customers.
- Always make sure you double check the measurements and dimensions. Do not base measurements solely on pictures. Once everything is finalized and built, we cannot make changes or take returns. All sales are final.
- Before picking up your items please make sure you measure your trunk space to ensure everything will fit.
- Always handle wood backdrops with care
- When setting up be sure to add weights (30+ lbs) to the stand in order to help support the panel (Sand bags can be purchased from Amazon and play sand from Home Depot or Lowes)
- Be sure to bring blankets/straps to help protect your backdrops during transport
- Prior to painting, be sure the backdrop is clean, remove any dust or debris. Use primer or paint and primer for your first coat. Additional coats may not need primer.
- Veneer (top thin layer) repair: plywood veneer can be repaired by using a thin metal scraper to remove any remaining separated veneer. Use the same scraper to apply wood filler to the area. Once the filler has dried, sand it smooth (150 to 220 grit works well).
PRICING
We try to keep our prices fair and competitive for our customers but at the same time good for our business. Please note our prices are subject to change based on the price of wood, supplies and market price. Also please note for any newly designed projects, or custom requests, these will always cost more the first time we make it compared to when we resell the same item. Custom builds take a lot of our time to design, trial and error to get it exactly right, extra materials if needed, etc. This is just part of the creative process to build something uniquely designed just for you. We love custom designs and look forward to new ideas and opportunities to build them for you.

PICK UP
Pick ups can be scheduled Monday-Friday (8AM-12PM). Weekend pick ups can be accommodated if scheduled ahead of time. We will typically reach out the week your order is due for pick up to finalize any details and confirm pick up date and time. We try our best to accommodate with scheduling as we understand sometimes last minute changes can happen and life gets busy. If we do not hear from you and the items are not picked up on your scheduled time, your order will be canceled. Please always contact us ASAP regarding any changes so we can try our best to accommodate. Thank you for your business and we look forward to seeing you at pick up.
